Whiting Sterling Silver Handled Grape Shears with German Steel Blades

Antique grape shears with sterling silver handles and German steel blades. The handles are richly repoussé-decorated with a grape and vine leaf motif — clusters of grapes and scrolling foliage in high relief — and fitted with faceted octagonal finger loops. The blades are curved and pointed in the classic grape-scissors form. Handles are marked Sterling and bear the Whiting Manufacturing Co. maker's mark; the blade is marked Germany with a maker's mark on the opposite side. Total length approximately 6.15 inches. Total weight 77 g — note: not all silver, as the blades are steel. Priced as an estate collectible, not by silver weight.
