Antique Bhutanese circular medallion in gold-washed sterling silver, circa 1880. The face is entirely covered in intricate hand-chased and repoussé dragon scenes rendered in the round — two sinuous dragons coil through pierced, openwork scrollwork across the full face, framed by a beaded inner border and a scalloped petal outer rim. A single red cabochon stone (stated as carnelian) is bezel-set at the center. The reverse, visible in the angled view, shows the silver substrate beneath the gold wash and a small fixed loop/hook fitting at the lower edge, allowing the piece to be worn as a pendant from a single loop or hooked as a strap ornament. Diameter 2.2 inches; weight 47 g. Consistent with 19th-century Himalayan/Bhutanese metalwork tradition. Shows age-appropriate patina and wear to the gold wash on raised surfaces.
